Compare the product types.
Three comparisons written for evaluation rather than for winning, between categories rather than between companies. Each one names where the other side is the better purchase.
Read this first
The most important thing on a comparison page written by a company with nothing for sale.
Solved Insurance does not sell insurance. Our products are in development and pending state approval, which means nothing on this site is an offer of insurance and no coverage can be purchased here, by anybody, today.
That is why these pages compare product categories rather than companies. A comparison page pitting us against a company whose policy you could buy this afternoon would bury the single largest difference between us, which is that they can cover your family and we cannot. If you need coverage now, talk to a licensed agent about a policy that is already approved in your state and do not wait on us.
What we can usefully do is explain how these categories differ, because that is the part people get wrong, and getting it wrong is expensive. Each page below names a real advantage the other side has, in the same size type as everything else, and none of them quotes a price or invents a statistic.

All comparisons
Categories rather than brands. Each page carries a verdict, a capability table, the case for each side, and the questions people actually ask.
Final expense vs term life
Permanent coverage sized for a funeral, next to temporary coverage sized for a household. Term is cheaper per dollar of coverage for a healthy younger buyer, and it ends.
View comparisonFinal expense vs pre-need funeral plans
Money paid to a beneficiary, next to goods and services arranged with a funeral home. A pre-need contract can lock specific arrangements in a way insurance cannot.
View comparisonSimplified issue vs guaranteed issue
Health questions and a decision, next to acceptance without health questions. Guaranteed issue accepts applicants simplified issue would decline, and charges for it.
View comparisonComparisons describe the common shape of each category rather than any one product, and are based on publicly published materials.
How we write these
Comparison pages are usually written by the company that wins them, which is why nobody believes them. We have tried to write these so a reader who buys something else still finds the page useful.
Four rules. We do not name a carrier, reinsurer, or rating agency anywhere, because a comparison written by a competitor is not the place to characterize somebody else’s company. We do not publish prices, ours or anyone’s: ours would be invented, and theirs varies by applicant and is theirs to state. We do not invent statistics, so you will not find a percentage or a study citation on these pages. And every page names the situations where the other category is the better purchase.
There are real advantages on the other side of each comparison. Term life gives a healthy younger buyer far more coverage per dollar. A pre-need contract can lock specific goods and services with a specific funeral home, which insurance cannot do. Guaranteed issue will accept an applicant that simplified issue underwriting would decline. If one of those is what your situation calls for, that is the buy, and a page on our site is not going to change the arithmetic.
What we are describing on the other side of each table is a product we are still building. That asymmetry is disclosed on every page, because a category comparison where one side is not yet for sale is only honest if it says so.
FAQs
About these comparisons
Why do you compare product types instead of companies?
Because we do not sell insurance yet. Our products are in development and pending state approval, so a page comparing us to a company whose policy you can buy this afternoon would be dishonest about the most important difference between us: they have coverage for sale and we do not. Comparing categories is the useful thing we can actually do.
Do you name other insurers on these pages?
No. Not one carrier, reinsurer, or rating agency appears anywhere on this site. Naming a company in a comparison written by a pre-launch competitor would be unfair to them and useless to you, and we have no rating history of our own to put next to theirs.
Do you publish prices on these pages?
No. We publish no premium, no rate, and no face amount anywhere on this site, because our products are pending approval and any figure would be invented. We also do not quote anybody else's pricing, because it varies by applicant and is theirs to state.
Are these pages trying to get me to pick one?
They are trying to help you work out which category matches your situation, and each one names plainly where the other side is the better buy. Term life is cheaper per dollar of coverage for a healthy younger buyer. A pre-need contract can lock arrangements insurance cannot. Guaranteed issue accepts people simplified issue turns away. All three of those are on the pages.
Where do the claims about each category come from?
Publicly published materials about how each category commonly works: product structures, disclosure requirements, and the general shape of underwriting in each. Products vary, so the only document that tells you what a specific policy does is that policy.
